You have to have a dream, if you want to have a dream come true

For many years, I had a dream. Actually, I had a lot of dreams (#ADHD).

It ended up being a blocker for me at times. I couldn’t focus on one thing enough to put all my energy into it. Thankfully, after much trial and error, I found something I love. Helping terrified leaders become BOLD content creators.

I’ve heard many people say recently that they feel blocked from creating content because they can’t find their ‘niche’.

Like me, they have many dreams but are currently overwhelmed and static. They feel that by posting about a particular topic, they must be married to that one thing forever.

You relate? Most can. Successful content creators have somehow found a way around this. A good mental hack is to remind yourself that YOU ARE the niche. If you don’t believe me, read this article by Megan Boley. She perfectly summarises why many people would love to know about your inner world. Why do you think Normal People by Sally Rooney was so popular? People love normal, everyday people, that’s why.

As some of you know, last October, I quit my job because I was SO SICK of busting my balls, making average men richer, whilst making myself sick. I finally realised that I could, in fact, spend my precious life chasing MY dream and building MY empire instead of someone else’s. It was definitely a massive mindset shift where I had to slowly rewire the thoughts of ‘I need the security of a salary every month’ to ‘if I really put my mind to it, I can make my monthly salary in 1 day’. Sounds insane, but actually very possible.

That’s the crux of it, and I’m thrilled to say I haven’t looked back.

It’s like the day I quit my job, the path unfolded, and the universe said.. ‘you’re ready now sis’. After 3 unbelievably shitty years dealing with grief, heartbreak, a serious illness, ADHD diagnosis, moving country a million times, getting fired by Elon Musk, and getting into (absolutely metaphorical) bed with a maniac co-founder, I finally found my light again.

The weirdest stuff has been happening to me. It’s like I’m constantly being sent person after person to guide me along my path. It’s like the braver we become, the more the universe sees we are ready for what’s meant for us.

I’ve onboarded a number of new clients, each one more wonderful than the next. It makes my heart so happy to know I’ve somehow attracted a certain person into my world. It’s mainly these incredible, smart people (many women) who just need a little push to overcome limiting beliefs. They need a guide to help them understand the potential within themselves.

This is why the ‘number of followers’, etc., at the end of the day doesn’t matter. It’s so much more meaningful to bring people into your world who align with your path and your values. That’s why showing as much of our authentic selves as possible is so important, especially in the content we create.

I’m actually at the point where I may have to close my calendar until March/April. I NEVER thought 2 months into my business, this would be the case. I cannot believe I doubted myself for so long when this life awaited me. But patience is everything on this journey, and each sh*tstorm teaches us the resilience we need to learn and makes it all worthwhile in the end.

I’m also sort of in shock that NEXT WEEK, we kick off Her Best Self | London, an event series born whilst having a coffee with my friend Corey in the Bumble HQ (he works there; we weren’t just randomly hanging around). It all felt like such a wild idea and now it’s happening. The premise is to bring ‘Women ready for a BOLD move’ together with Allies (welcoming the men too) with a shared goal of elevating all women.

Next week’s topic is all about health and wellbeing (with AMAZING speakers like Nike Performance Coach Alex Hipwell and Peloton Instructor Joslyn Thompson Rule), and on March 6th, we’ll host ‘Her Best Self in Entrepreneurship’ (hosted @Bumble HQ London), and on April 10th, ‘Her Best Self in Her Community’.

Anyway, I’m also happy to share that this the first BOLD newsletter; after a lot of back and forth trying to decide on which tool to use (in a state of inaction from decision paralysis), I landed on Beehiiv because I’m ALL about the most straightforward tool to use. I’d love some feedback, and if you like it, tell your friends :)

Here are some other absolutely random bits and bobs that you might appreciate:

I released my first IRL BOLD podcast, which was shot and edited by me (YIKES). My guest was the amazing Mary-Claire O’Sullivan, Women’s health coach, Wild Cork Woman and all-around legend.

This is my song of the week. Sometimes, when I feel like the world is crumbling down (like when the billionaires try to destroy humanity), I listen to something like this (very loudly) and tap back into myself. Let us all remind ourselves of our light and protect it at all costs.

This was my podcast of the week, recommended to me by one of my lovely new clients. I swear I fell in love with the man being interviewed, just through his voice and mind. I hate how hard it is for people getting out of prison to get jobs ☹️ It’s such a moving conversation and shows us that everyone has a soul and everyone has a story. It also reminds us that we must not judge those until we’ve walked in their shoes.

Tools I’m currently obsessed with:

NoteBook LM: Turn a PDF into a podcast - particularly shook by this one.

Notion: Where I host basically my entire life and business.

Enjoy your weekend - and remember to #BEBOLD
